Passionate experts in creating private tours and immersive experiences since 2009
We are Travel Curious, an international team of history buffs, travel junkies and tech geeks who believe in a better way to travel.
We believe that to Travel Curious means to unlock the potential of a destination- to have the courage to lose sight of the shore in order to discover new oceans. This means ditching the map, the rigid schedule, the ‘should-do’ list, and instead being led by whimsy as you are carried away by the local current. By becoming immersed in the local culture, and by accumulating an understanding of the place you are in, travel inevitably becomes a more fulfilling and experiential journey.
We aim to be the leading tour and experiences provider to premium and luxury hotels globally. To do this, we create unforgettable local, cultural tours and experiences, fulfil through our network of handpicked tour guides and provide this as a packaged service to hotels.
Amir was born in Israel, raised in South Africa and has lived in nearly a dozen countries since, while working in technology start-ups for most of his career. Powered by his hourly coffee fix, he leads with passion and vision, as evidenced by his motto, “Who dares wins”. While Amir describes everything as “unbelievable”, he says the best experience can be found in Skoplos, Greece because ‘It is authentic, untouched, unspoilt.
Alex is an ‘Irishman living in London’ – and all it implies. He is an avid reader and podcast-aficionado, who somehow found time to start a company between books. While he has a banking background, his true passion is history, as he freely quotes Marcus Aurelius alongside the newest Skift report. His dream vacation entails bringing his family from Europe to China, with long stops in each country along the Silk Road. We are yet to hear whether his wife and two girls are as keen on a history-laden vacation as he is.

Product Growth Manager
While she may be the most efficient person in the company, the mere mention of animals–namely dogs and pandas–sends Esha into a state of joyous frenzy. She is a history-buff, especially on all matters Russia, yet retains her youthful love of backpacking. Her ideal future holiday entails hiking across South America’s southern Pacific coast for the people, the food, the music, the cheap rum, and of course, the alpacas (hopefully with a ‘doggo’ as her companion).
Guide Community Manager
Caroline is the cool, scrappy one, who is always in the know on the newest app for finding the city’s hottest deals. She prides herself on having never paid a gym membership fee, though she attends classes regularly, and there’s a fair chance the same can be said for every holiday she has ever taken. Her favourite destination is Bali because it’s a far-cry from her East London roots but still has plenty of bargains to be found.
Head of Customer Service
Joanna is a lifelong Londoner and a lifelong learner. When she is not catching her weekly cinema binge, you can find Joanna planning her next trip to get her photography fix. Amongst a team of super-nerds, Joanna takes the cake. After she finishes her master’s degree, she plans to learn drawing and take yet another course in being a London city guide. It should come as no surprise based on the above that her motto is: “Either you run the day or the day runs you.”
Senior Account Manager
Clara always brings her A-game—whether in a team meeting or on a client call. She is a bold explorer, who plans to one day hike across Bhutan through the Himalayas. She trains for this on her painstaking commute, when the Central Line goes awry. Clara is always up for the challenge, and sticks to her motto through it all: “If you believe it will work out, you will see opportunities. If you believe it won’t, you will see obstacles.”
Director of Operations
Despite her paralysing fear of flying, Tiffany has spent her life globe-trotting, before landing at Travel Curious. Internally referred to as ‘the Queen of Sass’, she has a reputation for canceling social engagements in favour of a good read. While London’s clouds have yet to damper this native Southern-Californian, she never turns down an opportunity for a sun-soaked beach escape, paloma in hand.
A self-proclaimed geek, Andy is the company’s MacGyver. There is no piece of tech too complicated to deter him from the challenges the team throws his way. Perhaps his motto “through struggle to the stars” keeps him going in the trials amongst our requests. While he may never became an astronaut and visited the stars, working in travel will at least get him to his dream destination – The Palace of Versailles, and its shiny Hall of Mirrors.
In 2009, founder Alex Grant was living and working in Rome as a tour guide. Alongside another forward-thinking guide, Alex started a tour company, which provided intimate, private tours tailored to customers’ unique requests. As his model of bespoke tours caught on, Alex realised a technology-enabled model of his idea could be applied well across myriad cities and destinations, and thus Travel Curious was born.
Fast-forward a decade and the fast-growing team is situated in Shoreditch, a location vibrantly melding the past with the new. Our offices are based off Curtain Road–a lively, storied, street in London’s illustrious history. We have a Banksy a stone’s throw from our window and the remains of James Burbage’s The Theatre across the street, where Shakespeare used to perform five centuries ago.
At Travel Curious, we integrate the tales of our surroundings’ history into our own story.
