Our carbon pledge
At Travel Curious we believe carbon neutral is no longer enough.
We pledge to offset the CO2e of each tour, plus our company footprint by 150%.
How we do it

Measure
We developed a bespoke tours-and-activities calculator that allows us to accurately calculate the emissions generated by our tours and use Terra Verde’s carbon calculator to measure our company footprint.

Reduce
We review every element of our tours to ensure CO2e emissions are kept to a minimum. We partner with locals in each destination who care about reducing their own impact.

Remove
We offset 100% of our CO2e footprint through the Sustainable Travel International (STI) Forestry Projects Program and donate an additional 50% to the UK-based Make it Wild project.
Industry first carbon calculator for private tours
The Carbon Calculator is a back-end tool, designed to achieve transparency and give travellers confidence when choosing sustainable travel options.
The CO2e of each tour is broken down using the following criteria:
Method of transportation and distance traveled (on foot, by car, by train..)
Attractions visited (eg. electricity usage of an indoor museum vs. an outdoor archeological site)
Food consumed on tour, if included in the tour price
Any consumables used on tour, such as paper or plastic
A nominal digital allowance for web minutes spent searching, booking, and reviewing the tour or activity
Remove and rewild
Every tour taken with Travel Curious helps plant or preserve a tree.
To ensure we have a positive impact on the environment, we offset 100% of our CO2e footprint through the Sustainable Travel International (STI) Forestry Projects Program.
We also donate an additional 50% of our emissions-value to the UK-based Make it Wild project.
