Assistant Financial Controller

Role Objective/Purpose
The main responsibility of an accounts assistant is to support the finance team with business accounting activities. This includes raising, sending and paying invoices, reconciling company accounts and chasing late payments.
They also assist with basic administration tasks and should be on hand to answer any queries raised by staff, external clients or providers.
They will be expected to help document and maintain the business’ finance procedures, updating and implementing them wherever necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Credit control including
Dispute management
Fraud management
Processing expense requests
Invoice processing
Coding and inputting of supplier invoices
Maintaining the company purchase and sales ledgers
Liaising with third-party providers, clients and suppliers + timely, professional response to clients
Basic administration
Updating and maintaining procedural documentation
Client / supplier queries

Education & Experience
For this role, we are looking for an AAT finalist / qualified but QBE considered, preferably with experience gained within the travel industry.
We also require the following:
Excellent English
High level of data entry speed and accuracy
Analytical skills
Excellent communication skills
At least two years of relevant experience
Self-starting and motivated
Willing to get involved in all aspects of the business
Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel etc) is a must
Proficiency in Xero preferred
Payroll experience is an advantage
REPORTING INTO: Finance Manager
DEPARTMENT: Finance
LOCATION: London or Madrid office
WORK HOURS: 40 working hours per week. 5 out of 7 days
SALARY: €27K-€30K gross per annum depending on experience and location
This is a description of the role as it is presently constituted.
